PEWAUKEE, WI- June 16, 2016— The Wellness Network, parent company of the Newborn Channel, announced today that they have been awarded four 2016 Communicator Awards of Distinction for Video in the Health and Wellness Series. All four programs, Circumcision: What You Need to Know, Is Baby Getting Enough Breast Milk?, Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome, and Rooming In With Baby, support hospital compliance and initiatives to meet the new Joint Commission Perinatal Care Core Measure on Breast Milk Feeding.

“The team at the Newborn Channel prides itself in providing original programming that addresses key current topics of concern for both new parents and hospitals. Making important information easy to understand and empowering new parents with short, effective videos is our specialty,” noted Tanya Altmann, Chief Medical Advisor of the Newborn Channel.

The Newborn Channel delivers essential video education when and where soon-to-be and new moms need it most. This award-winning library is accessible via in-hospital TV systems, dedicated tablets and a password protected website. Programming is compliant with prenatal- and postpartum-care guidelines of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG).

“As all parents know, there is not an owner’s manual for new babies. Our programming supports parents and their newborns during the most delicate first few days of life, and helps start families out on the best path to baby’s optimal health and wellness,” stated David Ross, CEO of The Wellness Network. “We are honored to have our work recognized.”

The Communicator Awards are judged and overseen by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA), a 600+ member organization of leading professionals from various disciplines of the visual arts dedicated to embracing progress and the evolving nature of traditional and interactive media. Current AIVA membership represents a “Who’s Who” of acclaimed media, advertising, and marketing firms including: AirType Studio, Condè Nast, Disney, Keller Crescent, Lockheed Martin, Monster.com, MTV, rabble+rouser, Time Inc., Tribal DDB, Yahoo!, and many others. See aiva.org for more information.

The Newborn Channel is one of The Wellness Network’s many point-of-care solutions in delivering effective patient, caregiver and staff education. Programs are also available as part of e.Track, the company’s software that allows hospitals to assign, deliver and track patient education through their Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems. All Wellness Network products are designed to support hospitals in their efforts to meet accreditation standards, reduce readmissions, and improve patient satisfaction and quality of care.
