Death and suffering from opioid addiction and antibiotic resistance are making new headlines in the U.S. These continued crises have prompted time-strapped healthcare workers to look for more effective ways of informing, educating and empowering individuals, helping them to take control of their lives.
The Wellness Network, a leader in patient education and engagement solutions, has released new videos to help support providers in their initiatives. Education is vital to reducing the impact of opioid addiction and antibiotic resistance. We are honored to be recognized by the Telly Award committee for the following:
- Opioid Addiction is a 6-part educational video series covering key topics from acknowledging the issue of addiction and knowing how and where to find help, to understanding treatment options and building the tools to avoid relapse. The programs in this series are part of our HealthClips Mental & Emotional Health Library. Each educational video is told from a patient’s point of view to share a single learning objective and is between 3-5 minutes in length.
- Today’s Health Tip: Antibiotic Safety is a :45 PSA-type video aimed at increasing awareness of this topic. This new style is shorter and quicker paced, making it ideal for maintaining engagement and prompting viewers to learn more – driving them to our HealthClips educational videos.
In 2017, more than 47,000 Americans died of opioid addiction and an estimated 1.7 million are suffering from opioid addiction according to The National Institutes of Health. In addition, at least 2 million fight, and 23,000 die from, antibiotic-resistant infections according to the Centers for Disease Control.
